Pakistan is a failed state so long as we have a bunch of no-good individuals holding offices in the land and abroad. We have a President, Asif Ali Zardari, who has so much written about his corruption allegations that no one can rival him in this department -- all over the world.
Pakistan's Interior Minister, Rehman Malik, is no stranger to corruption. Malik had three cases of corruption allegations against himself. The list goes on.
Next, we have an ambassador in the US, Hussain Haqqani, whose only claim to fame is, 'His ability to sell his soul to the highest bidder.'
Pakistan is mostly definitely a failed state since it has failed to have a system in place that produces good leadership. Instead, the system only brings the worst of the lot to the top. A proof of a failed system is that both the President Asif Ali Zardari and Interior Minister, Reman Malik, could hold the public office thanks to the amnesty of the National Reconciliation Ordinance under President Musharaf.
