Asif Ali Zardari had left a trail of paper work from Pakistan to Switzerland as first husband. As President of Pakistan, he believes in little paperwork. His word is his command. If you are not with him, you are against him. You are doomed. He couldn't care less.
He is lording over a nation which has been led to believe that there is democracy in the country. Yes, it is the drone democracy. In other words, 'Americans are free' under Zardari government to target anyone and everyone using unmanned drones. Why? They are paying him well to carry out the attacks. Mr Zardari believes, if you can't fight the Americans, you might as well join them. Smart guy, isn't he! He knows which side of the bread is 'dollared.'
Next, the drone attacks will be all over Pakistan. Yes, make no mistake, there is no such thing as being a little pregnant. Yesterday, the attacks were along the borders. Today it is much further into Pakistani territory. Tomorrow, entire sovereign territory of Pakistan will be fair game. Why? He is paid well stupid!
Am I suggesting he is on the take? No, of course not! It is the Americans who are at fault. Why are they on the 'give'?
As for Mr. Zardari's legacy, I just don't know if he should be hanged, hated or honoured for whatever he did for the country! It is only fair to leave that to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan to decide.
I have lost a lot of my published and unpublished work over the years to diaries, computer hard drives and, lately, to memory sticks.
